It is funny how we now remember and, sort of, 'celebrate' these type of things. Social media times!

Looking forward to tonight's meetup, albeit from 6.30!

Ah, yes I remember that really well. A very brave thing to do.

It takes a certain kind of internal motivation to be prepared to ignore praise and reassess yourself or your business like that.

A good choice.

My hero was always golfer Nick Faldo.

Here was a man who was seemingly at the peak of his powers in the early 1980s, topping the European money list in 1983. But he decided he wasn't good enough, and took his swing totally to pieces and rebuilt it, suffering a couple of years in the relative wilderness with the press saying he was a fool as a result.

But after years of hitting thousands of balls a day, golfing perfection was achieved, and he answered all his critics by subsequently winning six major championships between 1987 and 1996. But for a bit of luck he could have completed the Grand Slam if he had won the US Open in 1988 and the PGA Championship in 1992, something only a handful of players have achieved, but he came runner up both times.

To do what he did took enormous courage, but the rewards he reaped justified the gamble that to the watching world looked like madness.

I couldn't agree more!

I went to a restaurant on Saturday night - lovely setting and great food but... they forgot to bring me a glass of wine that I ordered, there was no salt on the table and, when we asked for the salt, it took a long time to arrive and I wasn't given a steak knife for my steak. Three seemingly trivial things but the feedback I'm giving to my peers focuses on these three rather than the food.

Many small things that make a lot of difference to the way that a consumer views an experience aren't particularly difficult - they just require that someone is paying proper attention.
